In haskell, you can't use a type constructor by itsself because types are not first class, ie doing :t Maybe Int says "no data constructor Maybe" instead of just saying "type"

For FPS counting I just reset a counter every second and count up every frame. Nothing fancy, prolly not very accurate, but I've had trouble with extrapolating FPS from frametime or elapsed time
