@ThePhD Not sure -- WM_DESTROY is at least one of the last, but I suspect (for example) that it's possible to still receive some things like WM_NCHITTEST even after a window has started to be destroyed, so my immediate reaction is that there's no one message you can say with certainty will be the last.

Just need to ensure proper creation and destruction of the game based on a window.

It's just that SetWindowLongPtr and GetWindowLongPtr need to be used

when Destroy() is called on my WIndow class, it uses SetWindowLongPtr() and sets the associated class for that hwnd to null.

So I need to make sure I'm "at the very edge" before I actually kill my window and SetWindowLongPtr to null.

In either case, I got a good system going.

a map that maps hwnd to Window objects will keep anything that's just been created or just been destroyed.

That way the hwnd handle that WndProc gives can still pass the it to the proper WndProc.

Otherwise, GetWindowLongPtr will save the day.

However, that onyl solves the destruction problem.

It doesn't, unfortunately, solve the creation problem (hwnd is null until the CreateWindow function returns, Window object doesn't recieve anything through GetWindowLongPtr because there is no hwnd to use with SetWindowLongPtr until after that function fires).

So I think the map would only be for created windows.

Which will also allow me to get all the creating-window-messages.

When a user gets deleted, all the votes are deleted with it. Under extreme circumstances (such as an extremely high-rep user with many votes), the votes will be transferred to a dummy account and preserved so minimize the impact.

But that's not the case here.
