@Ell honest opinion: Ruby itself is a tidy little language, showing a few design mistakes but not nearly on the scale of Javascript. Rails is a moving target full of ~~good~~ wild ideas, and if it doesn't settle the fuck down soon it will hit a wall of failed projects which kills it.
