which reminds me of a funny story when my brother started dating his now wife. she was coming over for a date and he hadn't cleaned the dishes so he shoved them all in the oven. the next night he had his son and they were cooking pizza, so he preheats the oven to 400f. smoke alarm goes off, he clues in. opens the oven and with a towel grabs the tray and tosses it in the snow.

his son was only like 6-7 so half the dishes were plastic.

@user1596138 I've seen quite a few people use the oven to store their turkey pans. when in use they just place them on the counter or burner if it's also not in use.

@ssube it just replaces the params with their values if there's nothing in the translation dict, otherwise its contents are ignored (besides the param values) and the translated string used instead

using the english version as the key makes it more complicated

when product wants to rephrase it, you have to rekey things

I think there's value to having an abstracted label that makes sense internally (hell, call it an internal style language)

IMO the big advantage is that the code already contains the primary language, and if the string gets changed there translators should have a look anyway to update (if it wasn't just a typo fix). and if it was a typo fix, translation tools are quite good at doing a fuzzy match with the old string

I guess I would still sanitize the string somehow before using it as a key

react/JSX handles most of that for you

Still working on the cfflush issue. Basically... If i view source of the page, i can see just the content that should have been initially flushed, and on the actual page, i see both that and all the content that was later flushed. But the page waits until all of the content is available before it renders any of it

what i'm trying to do is flush a script tag to an iframe to abort the request so that the frontend doesn't wait for all of the FTP work to happen on the backend

i can't end the request in coldfusion the same way i can in node.js unfortunately
