Nintendo's problem right now isn't games, it's hardware.

they put out hardware they don't know how to use.

and they put it out before they had any software to run on it.

they'll get stronger when their usual lineup hits, but this is them learning the same lessons Sony learned for PS3

don't put out funky hardware you don't have compelling software for

and Microsoft bit the same bullet with Kinect this cycle.

I looked at some Wii MW3 vids on youtube

it looks way worse than those on PS3 and X 360

it's clear enough to see what's going on, and like I said, a lower price can easily justify to people a little worse graphics.

The Wii has like 75 MB of RAM.

the simple fact is, the age of a graphical edge being a dominant factor was a decade ago.

if you want to see good looking Wii games you'd have to see the first party games :v

people are more than willing to have lower fidelity graphical experiences for a lower price.

calling them subpar isn't even accurate because you can have great graphics at low fidelity if you have strong art and a good direction.

As for PS4/Xbone/WiiU, the consoles are not at the end of life and the big software titles for WiiU have not hit shelves yet.

My only protip is to disregard anything Puppy says w.r.t. Nintendo

I can bet that Mario Kart 8 alone, however, probably grossed more than most other titles could have imagined.

I don't really care if Nintendo does or does not fail, insofar as I have any stake at all it's on their side.

the N64 was a great console, I loved it, and I like that they don't push graphics hardcore.

The best selling game of this generation is New Super Mario Bros U. with 4.16m copies sold.

the difference between being a great console and being a shit console with great games is quite theoretical.

I mean, I think that Nintendo can come out ahead of Microsoft here because Microsoft made the same mistake, but don't have solid first-party software to back it up.

Sony With the PS4 releasing this November for 399$, being 100$ cheaper than its rival, the Xbox One, many have wondered if Sony would have profit from the PS4's release. According to what Eurogamer has heard from well-placed sources, Sony is expecting a $60 loss on each PS4 sold. This was quickly denied by Masayasu Ito, Sony Japan's executive.
According to Ito, Sony will be making profit from the moment users buy PlayStation Plus subscriptions and games. Ito also added that even without the purchase of games, the PS4 will incur a profit at a sooner point than PS3.

Honestly, I've been pretty critical of them, but man, I'm starting to think of getting a Wii U when the next Zelda comes out.

I'm sure the situation may be different in the US for example, but in Romania, there's no real reason to pick a Wii over a PS3, especially when the available games in stores look like this

They push the hardware envelope. But, it's easier to dev for them because they control the software stack pretty rigorously.

I'm probably the only one here whose most anticipated Wii U game is the Xenoblade "sequel"

I'm not so sure I want the $700 upgrade to my PC anymore

The Vita is doing pretty poorly though.

@EtiennedeMartel The only thing I've seen you show that was even somewhat compelling still said that despite being out for substantially less time and Nintendo bringing out one of their biggest first-party guns, Sony had a 25% bigger install base than Nintendo.

3DS is doing pretty good.
