@Mehdi You shouldn't need any KYC as long as you don't move fiat around, and stay under 100k USD a day in withdrawals tho

And for fiat, you're generally better off finding a local exchanging, buying coins there, then sending to Binance or FTX to trade the real stuff

You can probably use any reputable european one

Such as Coinbase

But in general, if you want to move EUR in and out, you'll have to go through KYC at atleast one place

isn't Coinbase the same as Binance for what I want to do? and is it normal that the "KYC" is so intrusive? why would they want an upload of the identity card if they can get my identity from a bank transfer?

Coinbase is generally way less featured than binance in terms of the number of coins and markets they support

And yes, its normal - you'll generally go through a similar process as onboarding to a bank or other trading platform for stocks etc

Bank transfers aren't really proof of your identity, just that the money originated somewhere - they are generally required to make sure you are the one who sent it, and not someone using you as a money mule

In the good old days none of this was required, but unfortunately governments realized that they were becoming obsolete quickly and tried to impose laws on stopping it

I have to say that I'm a bit reluctant to share my private info to this extent

and when I read about it, there was apparently many data leaks from these exchanges, maybe I'm just too paranoid

You can go through p2p channels, but the barrier of not getting scammed is a lot higher there

Generally, you'll be fine with Coinbase, Binance, FTX

Don't sign up for random small ones

For transferring fiat around, Coinbase is likely to be your best bet

Once you have actual crypto, then you probably want to move to binance or FTX, unless you're sticking to the handful available on Coinbase already

And if you're not constantly trading it, get a hardware wallet and transfer everything into that

They are fairly above board, just IPO'd in the US, and if they screw you over you actually can send lawyers to a real office with real people in it

Only if you want to get into the real trading side with derivatives etc

If your goal is to just buy and sell BTC, ETH, LTC, etc, then Coinbase alone is fine

If you want to trade futures, options, various smaller tokens, etc, then you need to move to a less regulated market

Each time Google releases a follow-on developer preview, I rummage through the incremental API differences report, the release notes, and even the release blog post, to see if there are things that warrant more attention from developers. I try to emphasize things that mainstream developers might use but may not get quite as much attention, because they are buried in the JavaDocs.
