well the sdk provides an API for opengl, otherwise if it's in C or something you'll probably have to use the NDK

there is no need for that. SharedPreferences are a singleton internally and even have a memory cache internally. Whenever you access data, it will be the last one you have stored

@grrigore doesn't matter. The shared preferences object you are using is always the same, the edit() will always return the editor for the same instance

Each time Google releases a new developer preview, I read what I can to see if there are things that warrant more attention from developers. I try to emphasize mainstream features that any developer might reasonably use, along with things that may not get quite as much attention, because they are buried in the JavaDocs.
