The FDA requires MSM (men who have sex with men) to wait 3 months before they can donate blood. The justification is that HIV prevalence among MSM is much higher than general population. However, the HIV prevalence among African Americans is also much higher than general population, yet there is no requirement for waiting period for AA people.
