Since "in real life" people would always iterate over the whole range anyway.

No example came to mind where iterating over only a sub-range came to mind. Do you have any ?

I guess it is just a special syntax. This is useful to forward all the parameters to another function.

In my example : one might call `foo2(*args, **kwargs)` so that `foo2()` gets called with the exact same parameters than `foo()` was called with.

I would expect my compiler to warn me that I sum up two different integral types

Integral promotions. In the end, a char is just another integer.

@ereOn If you try to add things which are smaller than int, they are promoted to int first.
