@StackedCrooked As for what we were building: the main thing was a runway. They have steel plates, probably 10 feet square and an inch thick or so. You lay these out to get something that's about 150 feet wide and 6000 feet long. Then you do it again and again (laying them out overlapping) until it's something like 10 or 12 layers thick.
