The code is getting compiled, e.g. I just attempted a static_cast from const char* to int and it complained. I put in the missing dereference, and now it compiles an int to std::string comparison.

To put it slightly differently, virtually every company that goes out of business, has quarters (often quite a few of them) where they would have made a profit but for costs of restructuring. That's not to say Hasbro's in danger of going out of business -- just that "would have made a profit except that we didn't" still isn't really making a profit.
