@PetterFriberg I see what you want to improve here, but I think SO already provides tons of advises and information to write a good question (red boxes, tour site, help center, info boxes to the right of the ask page, ...). Also it would be extremely difficult to write a generic template for the first question. So I think in the end OP would need more time to ask a question with a template, than it would take him to read the tour site in one or two minutes.

@Drew It's always bad ;) Also I'm not so active anymore, since you just get flooded with VLQ questions and it's hard to do something against it.

@PraveenKumar I'm usually satisfied by the dosas I can get at restaurants around here (Eastern US). Maybe I'm more easily satisfied than you are. A few years back I spent 2.5 months in the Pune area. I ate a lot of dosas then. I'm glad I can still enjoy them from time to time.
