There is no such entitlement. The publisher is offering a good, for a price. It is up to you to either accept that price or not take part in the transaction. You are not entitled to ignore the conditions of sale and help yourself to the good for zero price.

It was a rule created to avoid the classic "Evening -- Ho ho, you forgot I live in the other side of the world and it's morning here, fuck you" kind of stuff.
The "focus" seems to define at what level of depth you want to get the focus of the picture on.
