@Lankymart Technically, since there's attribution, it's not plagiarism, but it's also useless, so it merits a downvote, and probably deletion if/when possible.

@TigerhawkT3 the main issue is the question being a duplicate, then they wouldn't need to copy answers across...that logic is just flawed.

@PetterFriberg You certainly can answer like that. It's not as common, but it's still a valid answer. It's possible that someone who makes a habit out of it will get a talking-to, but not guaranteed.

You can flag anything for deletion, or vote to delete something with a negative score. And yes, you should flag/vote for duplicates. But people who answer duplicates, even if they know it's a duplicate, aren't breaking any rules.

If they were, 99% of the userbase would be banned, because just about everything is a duplicate.

@TigerhawkT3 well that post was breaking the rule for correct reference (missing author name and quoting) and then you can flag it as NAA (since it should be a comment), but since not easy to understand better to flag for moderator. Moderator deletes these answer on regular base and even have a auto flag if answers are exactly the same.

I will show you some examples

Welp. I've just fixed a bug that happened because a page wasn't even nearly loaded yet when the DOMContentLoaded event fired. All was there was a script to load the actual content.

There was a link to the original. It's not plagiarism. It was an attempt to answer the question, so it's not NAA. And "mods do X" isn't necessarily an indication of anything.

@TigerhawkT3 You can do as you like, but those answers should be deleted, special in this case with incorrect attribution, if you flag it for mod they will deleted it, if you think otherwise you can always ask meta.

For something like the third time, I did downvote it, and voted to delete.

I rarely flag stuff for mods these days. I seem to get a lot of declined flags.

meeh we flag like maybe 10 of these type of answer (re-post or link to other answer) x day, I have not had any declined flag.

To me however still it's not an answer, it's simple pointing to another answer (even if it has copied whole content), you can't do that on SO, that's not how the plattform works

If every duplicate question was immediately closed/deleted rather than answered, rep would be hard to come by indeed.

@LearnHowToBeTransparent I'd bypassed the cache with no effect. Eventually, an ordinary refresh displayed the extra ones. I think it was server side.

I was puzzled about why someone revenge-downvote my questions and not my answers... then I remembered that downvoting answers costs rep. They must not have had the stomach for it.
