I noticed just one weird thing: our postgre database was completely flooded with idle connections created by "pgadmin" - hundred+ of them. Like if you close the application (webpage interface) it doesn't terminate the connection. Anyone experienced with that?

Once in a while Chrome stops being useful, you click a link in any other app than chrome it'll open a new instance of chrome instead of opening the link at all.

I can think of the top of my head of two solution: just ban ownership of any form of gunpowered weaponry, and put some heavy prisontime (which can't be bought of) on it, like 5-10 years for owning a sidearm, 20+ for anything heavier. Another solution is to introduce full body and cavity scans at semi-public places, so that no one can smuggle weaponry into a school/government building.

Second option is probably (depending on how many people would have to go to prisons for gun ownership) more expensive: but it is possible and just requires each school to hire a trained professional who searches each child each morning.

So if you really "want" your guns take responsibility and introduce also "gun safe" areas where guns are banned.

So that people can have the feeling of "safety" instead of constant fear of getting shot down.

Might I suggest educating people?

The real solution is to have mandatory gun handling training from the age of 10, and a supply of handguns in every classroom that gets automatically unlocked during an active shooting event. That way the children will be able to defend themselves.

preventing violence is not possible. We can do a lot, but there ain't no way to prevent everything

@Luggage I actually cannot remember any violence on schools anywhere in the netherlands, ever. Nor in belgium or germany.

US is kinda unique, but my 2c on this issue. If you have a lot of people who are not happy regardless guns or not they'll do damage. And the US seems like people are incredibly unhappy living with each other.

and banning guns is out of the question for simple political reasons. won't happen even if it WAS the solution. We can do a lot to make things generally safer, though. Laws on storage, training. fix issues where people on no-gun lists can still buy guns, etc
