Hold onto them until they exceed buying price by a margin

eventually they do go up

not particularly exciting strategy

but it helps you sleep at night

it also helps to not pick companies that might fail :P

I wanted to get into the stock trade and with the small amount of money saved up, I bought Apple. A year or so passed and it wasn't particularly making a lot of money, so despite my dad's advice, I asked him to sell it

That was a month before the iPod was introduced to the market
