It's unfair to cut the pay of your employees because you can't manage the business effectively. Saving your bottom line by cuts is not the answer, that's just a quick fix to stop the bleeding, but it's insulting to everyone.

being transparent with your employees and issuing a temporary furlough system to cut pay across the board is certainly better than them not doing anything and then one day shutting the doors because they couldn't pay the bills.
