@bitten oh they will get used at some point.. more like finding time to get them into projects... got a bananapi running as an owncloud server, 1 pi2 running SETI@Home stuff (and other cloud computing workloads), another as a nodejs playground, and a pi3 as a tablet. the other 3 pi's should be for some robotics and cycle touring stuff.. .but there are only so many hours in the day

@bitten either way you gotta pass through Germany - and that's where the roads generally suck.. someone had the bright idea to plant the trees close to the cycle roads, so now many nice routes are messed up with root-growth-cracks, dropped limbs from wind storms and the idiocy of not following along with the adjacent car road as shortest route between two points.

not to mention the continued use of cobblestones in the smaller towns/villages to vibrate your private parts..erm .. apart... Denmark and Netherlands cycling is superb in comparison

@elsololobo 10+ years of cycling between Denmark and the rest of Europe actually. You can tell you have crossed country borders between NL and Germany by the sudden change in road quality. :)

i'm lucky if I can get above 10 kph on some sections between Bremen and the Dutch border

you have to remember (or perhaps i never mentioned it) I ride a velomobile - meant to cruise at like 30-40 kph much of the time. rutted roads just slow me down :D

well in 1998-99 I was teaching basic web-dev stuff with php/mysql and was getting kind of in a rut.. met nice German lady , we pen-palled for a while, thought we were in love, then she suggested i move to Germany with her..

. so i had nothing better to do, and i had a sneaking suspicion crawling up the back of my neck that the US was gonna get worse soon... and it actually did shortly after (9/11).. then the country got stupid really fast (travel rules and stuff)... so yeah, that's why i say 'escaped'

@corvid well, I guess. I mean it's not a big deal to convert timezones too, depends on the task. If you really need exact dates and stuff, you can't get around coverting

but if it's just about offsets and calculation etc, I'd always get server-times for anything and work explicitly with that

@BharatBhushan either the click event handler or the function that manages the process bar has a delay by setTimeout or setInterval. (My guess is that the setInterval is not used correctly)

well in Germany, 1st girlfriend's mother 'sponsored' me as a backup in case i became jobless for some reason, but that never happened, so getting the living and working permits to do IT stuff was pretty easy

i just had to write a paper (in German) detailing what the business would be about. i did 'smart FAQ systems using a weighted formula to promote common questions to the top of the list in an FAQ webpage'... and that got approved. i did one prototype in php-mysql, then ended up never using it because all people wanted (at the time) were custom frontends for their phpBB forums >.<
