I tried to avoid using navView.setupWithNavController(navController) and do the menu selection "by hand", and it kinda worked

I managed to make it navigate to other frags, but then I lost the up navigation...

even tho it shows the "back" arrow, it'll just bring the navigation drawer back

and if I try to select any other item, it'll crash since there's no action from Fragment B,C,D... to the first Fragment A

And if I just stick to the navigation component stuff, the fragment transactions will lag while the drawer is closing...

This is pissing me off, really

I'll stick with the lag for a while and focus on other features...
