Answers-as-comments hurt SO and break the model. Also a short "answer" without detail or caveats can hurt the OP.

I'm fortunate to have lighting in my office, and so I can tell the difference between mouse and KB because I can see that they have a differerent shape and size - I don't need the coloured lights to tell them apart or to use them effectively.
