But your language has only dropped 90% of those very same inconsistencies (by throwing out the child with the tub), and stick to 10% of them. I think, technically, that is about as correct as it gets. As I seem to remember from too many a popular-scientific article on genetics, the clitoris is really the tip an undeveloped penis.

In Dutch, nouns have genders but nobody knows them. You use "de" for both male and female words, but sometimes you need to know the gender and then you are screwed.
