they didn't teach programming in high school, but I did. I taught another kid qbasic in typing class instead of typing

So I'm trying to download an octect-stream into a txt file, but it seems my new line characters are ignored and it's all coming in on one line. How do I make it render the line breaks and keep the multi-line consistency?

@SterlingArcher I don't think I understand the problem :( You're encoding a string, which includes newlines to a URL, so, obviously the newlines are escaped
