Hello! I have an express + socket.io app. The state is represented by an object.

In the clients, I want to keep track of every change made to the state, so that I can commit them to the server, without sending the whole state object every time it changes.

What I'll try is to make the state in the client accessible only via a readState() function which returns a copy of the state. Then, to modify the actual state, the client app would have to call something like changeState( attr , value), and then explicitly commiting that (and any other recent) change via a commit() function.
