(and know where the port is set?) I have set port=3306 in multiple places like /usr/local/mysql/my.cnf and /etc/my.cnf under [mysqld] and [client] and it's still bloody running on 3307!

@Andrea can only run mysqld as _mysql user from what I see, and I can't change to that user...
su _mysql doesn't do anything

Just run ps -efa | grep "mysql' and I see that it has --port=3307 appended at the end of the command, the bastard. I need to find where the system is running that from
