@thecoshman More cylinders isn't about producing more power--it's about running smoother. You can produce as much power as you want from one cylinder. Fuel usage mostly comes down to total displacement, not number of cylinders. Ship Engines often have about the same number cylinders as car engines.

If you had any significant amount of gasoline (in liquid form) going into the cylinder, you'd promptly destroy the engine (for those present who never learned even the most elementary physics, liquids don't compress well, and gasoline engines typically have a compression ratio of around 8:1 or so.
