C isn't all that bad....

My time at uni was a lot better. Still a lot of theory, and we still had to learn Prolog, but we also had to do actual coding (write a compiler, or an OS kernel), or mess around with a CELL cpu), and there were some competent teachers, including some who actually knew C++ (and taught me template metaprogramming).

It's odd, I quite like messing about with asm, and I like C++, but I don't have any particularly warm feelings for C. It's just at an awkward place where it's neither high-level nor low-level enough to be fun

for me, anyway

I have no problem with other people using it

@jalf I didn't have problems with the course as such. Sure it had the odd module that left you think "erm... why?" but over all, my complete and utter loss of care for more then just my course was not because of my course, I think

as a zealous fan of portable C++ :) I recommended to my boss to try to implement one project with C++11 and Boost(Instead of relying on #if and OS specific stuff), and Im confident we can do it with C++11 + Boost. Now (as a fan of generalizing:) ) Im wondering what are the things that can't be ...
