I don't know if this is a known issue that Android Emulator thrashes disk like there's no tomorrow (orders of 300 MB/s, never stopping) and if this is possible to fix somehow?

it's so bad it makes the whole OS unusable (Ubuntu in my case)

Just lots of IO jobs, so it makes sense to increase the threads count, since they'll mostly stay idle waiting for the results

the rule of 1 Thread / 1 core, is only if you're doing CPU tasks, such as calculations

also on Linux (which is used in Android too) as far as I remember, each thread has its own PID
and they aren't in unlimited supply

my issue is that every task is waiting for something, and I have tens of thousands of jobs to launch (a data migration)

so If I don't do that, I'll have to wait a couple of years :D

(I'm on the server side btw)

It depends but yeah there are cases where it may be faster than (naive-coded) Java

Java has something similar in nio package IIRC but I'm not sure

and without coroutines in the language this will probably be a bit more tedious to use
