Ah, but it doesn't do portal-like dashboard type things, as in have user account management, dashboards per group or user, and widgets where I can load charts.

Back in the day, a product I liked was Plumtree Portal, but I don't know what the equivalent free thing is in the PHP world.

but domain.com/forum would work just the same

it depends on how you want your website structure to appear I guess
