When NTLM is turned off it automatically authenticates me with my domain user and password. This is the visual studio server. When I put it on a IIS which is on a different domain, it doesn't work. What i'll have to test is having the visual studio server on the other domain somewhere..

@sinni800 I don't get what the problem is, you have a website on another domain, say 'Domain A' and you're trying to login from 'Domain B' with 'Domain B's login details yes?

@Sres: When using the visual studio webserver on a domain A computer it works by logging me in automatically by my domain name

@Sres when putting the web app on domain B it does not log in Domain B users/computers automatically. So I suppose the problem lies with IIS6

The problem with the first, is that you can have many users with the same hostname, since they come through the same line

The problem with the second is that you can't get hold of it from your server
