OK, so I'm helping a friend. He is on Windows I'm on Ubuntu. We use the same script but his runs WAY slower. Anything you know about causes for this?

I'm using a simple file iterator and itertools.izip

and not much else really

He has a lower specced machine?

do you have ssd?

I mean WAY lower

and it all fits in RAM

cpu for me 100%, for him 25%

and now when he ran outside pycharm it was OK

anyone knows about pycharm-windows bugs?

i use windows and pycharm ... i dont know i havent seen any performance hit for it

are you sure its not PEBKAC?
