My shot on this is that's really just a taste of mouth. If you don't need to split it out across multiple devs, just doing it yourself, you may not need to have good OOP/OOD for a single page site. But then if you want to follow good OOD practices, you should really split it out to multiple classes, files etc. to just obey SRP, and there could be other book length opinions I could list here.
