@Druckles I've seen people consider disagreement to be the same as personal attacks and harassment. I vaguely remember seeing one of the posts before it was nuked (relevant to the question).

citing things such as more than one question marks, too broad, not understand what I ask, ..., any vague reasons. The moderators have no knowledge to judge either, and just follow their leads to close or delete my posts

Fun fact: I was insulted once for welcoming a user to the site. The comment wasn't related to downvoting, close voting, or anything else. Just welcoming.

@Tim Uh, it's not really nice, the fashion you call out the other user in your comment. Focus on the action instead — Why your question is unfairly closed — than the people who did it.

If you want to achieve results, that is the way to go. Judge your questions objectively, and if you're certain they're not too broad, explain your reasoning.

Hundreds of posts are being curated, closed, reopened, deleted, undeleted etc. everyday. It's never something personal. If you make it about people, rather than actions, you won't achieve any result since the people that can reopen it do not look at things from your perspective.

@Tim What halfer is trying to say (what I understood the comment to be) is that dividing your post into bullet points and asking several things at once is what causes a post to be too broad. I don't have any programming knowledge in any field but I do have a fairly good command of English. Would you explain why domain knowledge would be required to understand whether several questions are being asked?

Note that asking about the same paragraph or same code doesn't mean the questions would automatically be related.

Right, so, Tim, we normal users don't have the ability to prove malice in this case. we also can't fix it. so... raise a custom flag and explain the situation, ideally with links to what you see as problematic. All we can really do is state the rules, and point out any public facing info we can find related to your case.

It's far easier to get a post reopened by proving the user is wrong or fixing the problem the user saw, rather than proving the user acted with malice.

There's a two-minute window for editing chat messages. After that, only a moderator can edit them.

eh, allowing edits at all is problematic when it's difficult to police them. Editing needs to exist for usability reasons, but has a short window to prevent abuse.

it would give you more time to notice those typos

I wouldn't want it to be much longer than it already is, it's annoying when i respond to something and someone then edits or removes it. typos are... well, not really a problem.

that's where the message element comes in - if there has already been two messages after a message, then editing would be disabled

that window would be quite short in an active conversation

Have you ever noticed those moments in chat where everyone just posts "o/" in quick succession?

variable timeouts would just add confusion imo, what would it be solving over just making it 3 minutes?

or leaving it at 2?

Infinite deletion time would be useful for bots

it would also be convenient for users who in the past posted things that they'd rather not be on the open web today
