at regexpal.com it works

when I to "string.match" inside JS, it doesn't return "thing2"

huh, success! At least the third workstation recognizes all four memory modules and both CPUs.

The third workstation is exactly one as the first one which is borked. So a HP xw6200.

All that's left to do now, is installing a SSD and then reinstalling Ubuntu because I was an idiot and installed the i386 non-pae kernel ...
