As long as there is no brigading ("hey, everyone go downvote this guy") there's nothing anyone (mods / SE) can or will do. And FYI, complaining about getting downvoted that much you are actually attracting attention - that may very well be negative. Now.. you've been told by room owners to drop the topic so you might want to follow that advice.

Right now it works such that a number of 10k plus users, or a moderator, have to validate it

not necessarily users who are in the room

it's an odd case, because, you can't just rely on people in the room to validate a flag

they very well could be biased
