@Loktar I think you're misunderstanding what my repo is about.

in the amount of time I consider how to shim fetch, or how to write my own xhr wrapper, I can include jQuery, write my $.ajax call, answer three emails, and get a bottle of water

That's fine; once again, I'm not telling anyone not to use jQuery; I just think it's important for developers to understand the available APIs, and how to use them. Good developers will have no problem learning more; I don't care about the lazy jquery plugin copy pasters.
My audience is people that don't know that javascript and browsers have changed. At my last job, the architect told me that I wasn't allowed to not use jQuery, because browsers were way too inconsistent, and I would have to write my own functions.
Is there this huge community of awesome web devs using jQuery that just dont know about anything else? Because if that is the case, that in itself screams laziness on their part.

@Loktar no, there is a HUGE community of noobs who see a shiny engine that allows them to move an element. some of them go further and learn more about the underlying tech and make awesome stuff we all love and respect... the rest do fivverr wordpress alterations which I'm happy to not do myself.
@ApathyBear linting shouldn't be a bad part of your day, if you make it part of your editor so that it stops you immediately so that you get in the habit of not doing things that the linter would complain about in the first place.
I get it, other peoples code sucks. you guys see the fucking js that we had before jQuery? 1000 different shims / abstractions that didn't really work together. paid libs that only worked in ie6 with activeX, inline everything
like, should you be able to remove scripts from the popup? do you wanna be notified when a script updates or just have it silently disable itself.... if you wanna see the notification? where?

@ssube the detaching etc. is all nice but doesn't work across reboots. I can pipe their stdin and stderr on will to a file later on but that suffers from the usual snipping issue of very long logs.
@KevinB so even if it already has it, at least they've never used it publicaly and we don't know about them. But giving them for a single case would prove that they have it which would drive a lot of people nuts
