it has slightly better graphics, you can run across the map in 11 minutes, it has more objectives, etc. I'm not sure I'm sold on it, but it looks decent

Mass Effect is... complicated. The gameplay got better as the series went on, but it went from being a fairly serious sci-fi story to being way more pulpy and ridiculous.
