here we had (now it's a bit different) K-12 (K is grade 0, and you only attended half days) split up by a few ways. we had K-8 schools or k-6, then 7-8 but both had 9-12 as highschool. if you are born in September like me you graduate at 16.

mind you in Ontario up until I was in grade 10 we had OAC (Ontario Academic Credit) which was grade 13. and mandatory.
