problem with smoking is you have to want to quit. I know people say it but it's true. you have to be so disgusted with your own habbits that you won't do them.

The 5-7 day physical addiction is no issues. The habits you associated with it now make you forever want another smoke.

I've stopped a few times before. longest was over a year. but then the habits add up and get you thinking "i'm the only one stopping me. If I want it why suffer" and willpower fails because secretly you really don't want it to work.. because you still associated it with something you like.

but from the mind of a non smoker it's hard to see any of this as anything more than an excuse for no will power.

Oh, no. I understand. Of course, I've been around smokers my entire life.

I have all the respect in the world for someone who has quit.

I know a guy who quit cold-turkey the moment his wife told him she was pregnant. His son is now... 6 or 7. Hasn't had one since.

Serious respect to that guy.
