Java is a completely virtualized environment, python is interpreted scripting language run on C++

for high volume computation, Java will yield better performance than python but yes it has overhead

Technically speaking I can't find any iDE will less consumption except I will settle for editors right?

C++ has the best performance but it's less portable

VS Code is great, never used it for java though

I've always done java in Eclipse or Android Studio, a lot of people like IntelliJ/JetBrains

but yeah you're typically gonna have higher overhead in a fully featured IDE

System Architect is a great role, you can code on the side

assuming I didn't do any side projects in the mean time

yeah I was thinking that might be a nice intermediate role actually

it certainly has higher tier pay and upward mobility in the company

eventually you become too valuable to keep coding

and you either don't get raises or move up anyway

I'd probably continue to do some of my programming stuff since there would be a gap there if I didn't, and in the meantime learn the new role and yeah exactly, way more upward mobility

@ballBreaker if you are reviewing what the outsourced people are doing you'll still be interacting with code right? and newer stuff

I'm not sure that I'd actually be looking at their code or not, but would certainly be evaluating the solution and the architecture of their solutions
