hello developers, is it worth switching to learning kotlin for android development or should i stay with java..? is there any risk in staying with java for android development in the long run..?
If you're doing native Android you should be using Kotlin, there's no point in using Java for Android development because the vast majority of companies will require you to have Kotlin experience
From the WebView documentation, it says:
setDatabaseEnabled sets whether the database storage API is enabled.
setDomStorageEnabled sets whether the DOM storage API is enabled.
So I want to ask what is database storage API and what is DOM storage API? What are their differences?

OK , @MwBakker understood. I may also have a look at it (Flutter) although I would still be limited to Android. Although all these frameworks (react native/ flutter/ cordova etc) may not be here tomorrow, native ways will always be here as long as the Platform still exists
Does anybody here know if something like a IT service specialist exist with the ability to also code small program solutions? Specialized for smaller companies. So an IT guy that can optimize your computer machines, but if required also create some software solutions at small scale
An it specialist in the smaller business sector (mkb in Dutch terms) is the 'allround' man who maintains the IT machines in the company. He goes to that business for optimalization or fixing stuff. It's beneath my grade but something I did as a hobby and want to do for work.
my girlfriend's IT guy at the office works remotely, every time there is an issue that can't be fixed over email they have to fix it themselves or wait a few days

I see, I can't find people doing this combo either but I know a few exist. I want to know what the response is offering myself like a 'tech support + engineer" where the plus stands for small automated solutions if required
if your colleagues are negatively affected by you leaving, the knife in their backs is put their by company management for not having a plan B in place
also, the 1 month resignation period is there so they can find your replacement before you are gone
if they find someone else, all is well and if they don't then it is not your fault
When I do new MainActivity(). This new instance is kinda useless even though it's an Activity. Calling getApplication() returns null. And calling getApplicationContext() crashes the App. Now my question, does Android internally create an Instance of my Activity class and only that instance has the LifeCycle methods and it's the Only usable instance or something different is happening
MainActivity is the head class of the Activity: it needs one instance as the starting point to be able to navigate from
like a tree with roots, it comes from one central point
any other activity can have LifeCycle methods (if I recall, this is what I used with observers etc)
but there is one LifeCycle instance keeping your activities alive to be able to navigate back and forth from: the mainActivity. I am not sure if I am 100% correct on that one though
