@ballBreaker Yeah, I love all those systems - utility infrastructure, aviation, finance, city tech, etc.

I only buy new when the monitor is really low end, as in < $100, or really high end (gaming/color accurate monitors)

refurbished monitors are probably decent too, usually what breaks monitors is just capacitors , so pretty easy fixes

High color accuracy is expensive, and most monitors that retail around 250-400 will be good enough for normal people photo editing

@Mauker When I started here they did a massive recycling of machines, I wanted a few of the desktops to make a server, but there were too many policies against it

Really tho, don't get an actual server for your house, they tend to be pretty loud and power hungry

Get a couple of desktops or NUCs

Much quieter and cheaper to run, and easily able to handle anything you can throw at it in a house environment
