in a ViewPager, one of the fragment is a SupportMapFragment that I need to initialize with SupportMapFragment.getMapAsync(activity) in order to get a reference to a GoogleMap object (for controlling the map) from the OnMapReadyCallback. Works well when the activity starts. When I rotate the screen, I loose the reference to the GoogleMap object, so I getMapAsync() again. But the callback is never called again... I've lost my ability to control the map :'(
@MarkO'Sullivan No, my solution used size buckets to ensure the user always saw the view. The "solution" I'm arguing against is making the view 1/3 for this bit, 1/3 for this bit and 1/3 for this bit and if it get's cut off, oh well.
Android is adopting new design patterns too fast. It should drop some too, or there will be too much of them.
Especially since most of them are related to GUI, and GUI themselves are rarely needed, most of the things can be done just fine from CLI. And even better, because CLI won't drain battery as much.
How do I set my default music player? When I tell google to play music it automatically opens google play music, but there has to be a way to set that to spotify instead, right?
