ohh never mind I think this only works in API 21+ because you have to call View#setNestedScrollingEnabled(boolean) on the parent

Try using getSupportActionBar().setHideOffset(40). 40 is just a guess, but you can tune it.

Could you put all your content in a ScrollView and have a RelativeLayout with your content and align your content above your Toolbar?
