A: Scroll with Selenium

Selenium 2 tries to scroll to the element and then click on it. This is because Selenium 2 will not interact with an element unless it thinks that it is visible. Scrolling to the element happens implicitly so you just need to find the item and then work with it.

By the way any idea why my iOS device slows down tremendously when connected to my Mac right after I tell Xcode to use it for development, and returns to normal once I unplug it? I haven't even run any builds on it yet

Well, it doesn't really slow down so much as the touch screen becomes far less responsive

probably because there's some debugging processes happening on the iPhone (e.g. logging / console polling / etc) that wouldn't normally happen if it wasn't plugged into Xcode.

No, when iOS needs more memory it will just kill the apps in the background. Even if the app is leaking, as soon as you switch out (pressing home button) and open another app, iOS will probably kill it.

I think whatever debugging and logging that was going on was only there as part of initial setup. My device doesn't slow down anymore even when plugged in and viewing the console

And the console is definitely churning

In OS X and Windows, the way it works is when you don't have enough RAM, the OS will just offload to virtual memory. But there's no such concept as virtual memory in iOS. It's either still in memory or it's not.
