I have a question. I want to write unit tests in Android and have stumbled upon Kotest. Looks great! I'm working on an app with many large classes and picked a small class which I refactored into a Kotlin class with one function in the companion object. Which basically takes json and creates the class from it (yeah I know there are better solutions, that's for later...). I picked that small function to test. I can introduce a json library but then I would like to use it everywhere. And there are much more pressing issues, like a lack of tests. I can also skip this one but that doesn't instill a lof of confidence in my new test setup
First things first, you should test private implementation details of class Second, if you really want to test if the json is parsed correctly, provide a Generic Json parser as a dependency of a containing class
Third, you can use a design pattern eg. Data Mapper, or an Adapter that's going to map a JSON to a POJO and test that instead
- yeah dont use DataBinding - This is how Checkobx/RecyclerView Adapter is supposed to work

My daughter is doing fine, son is also fine. Me... well sleepy but so far son and me we are fully negative, my daughter have had 2 positive tests at home and one negative at the test center. My wife has like straight red lines on all 4 tests she made so far and is the only one who had a PCR (result pending). But she feels worse with every hour. Lets see how bad it becomes...
I mean the worst thing can happen is that they say no (or give you a super shitty raise) and then it reveals where you stand with them.. Had that happen at my first job. Went in and got like a 0.5% raise although I was expecting ~10% because of the extra certifications, experience, relative wages around me, etc. Ended up leaving that and looking for jobs the next day
but obviously it's always harder IRL than just words on a screen

I know anxious feelings don't just dissapear, im still dealing with my last job experience as you guys know. Doesn't mean I have my way to calm my mind that might also work for someone else

@Tim Ehh I haven't been running in the cold at all because it really does something bad to my sinuses that causes an allergic-like rhinitis response..which causes my nose to burn and run (or get stuffy) for 2 weeks
I was going to try using the indoor track at the gym close to me, but they closed for the new restrictions in the past weeks
lmao yeah that's actually basically it, except its more that I've somehow become allergic to being cold because it sometimes happens when I don't run at all but im just outside in the cold for a long time.. but running makes it happen really fast
I wear my regular clothes, for some reason my legs don't get cold. But I wear a running sweater on top, and also some special kind of gloves that stimulate blood flow or whatever, I'm not sure about those but at least keep my hands from freezing
you never know when you suddenly need to be able to fun fast for a few kilometers
