Is there a way to check what's increasing RAM usage for an app? I've tried checking the Android Profiler -> Memory -> selecting a period of time, it shows me the app heap along with Alloc Count, Dealloc Count and Shallow Size but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I've seen a lot of String and int objects and can see where they are created but I can't figure out how to remove these old Strings / ints whenever their fragments are no longer being used

There's no pattern really, it's just any time I click on an item from the navigation drawer to open a new fragment, the ram usage increases

my moveToFragment(Fragment fragment) method mainly uses new MyNewFragment() as the argument, so it's creating new objects every time instead of reusing one
