@PeeHaa What I finally am going to do is use seek to get the line and explode to get the column although I didn't find Explode's complexity written somewhere in the docs ; I imagine is O(N).
Yeah thought so.. It's impossible to do it with O(1).. The only case that would be achieved would be having samesized (byte) elements all over the row.. Oh well O(n) ain't bad (luckily my row is not that big)
I really enjoyed algorithms in college. Kept trying to solve NP problems. Best I could do was show that for a basic one I could reduce N^2 to nlogn with logn parallel processors.

yea it's super hard since you have to read Intel's or AMD's Docs for their processors (depending on who you aim..) and get involved to very low-hardware characteristics
Question. So where I work, the library, we got Chromebooks and want to let people borrow them. But we don't want them to need an account with Google. Suggestions?
I am interested if it is known what algorithms PHP uses for explode/implode functions, and what are their time complexities?
