@hamza I like to think it's people being stupid at the stuff we are smart about... that way I can assume some value in other people... with the assumption that there is stuff they are smart about that I am stupid about.
@Orangepill heh, I'm just wondering as I think I'm not that smart. I think that some people really lack common sense.
@Orangepill I'll give you an example. I work at a DIY shop, there was a client asking for help, the client needed some coax cable, so I advised which one is it, and what you need. The client then asked me "How much do I need ?" I though lolwut? Is this serious ? I mean even if you're not that technical you would at least know that the question is invalid since I don't know the setup of the house
@Orangepill Another one: I need some paint for the walls. I give them some advice which one is good and which one is bad. And then I ask "how much square meters do you need". They think "well it's 4 x 3m" so 12 square meters. And then I ask them "that's the surface of the ground, not the walls ?" "Oh yeah ? it's not the same?" (facepalm)

@Fabien actually slicing in photoshop is damned annoying. I usually end up creating a bunch of PNG images, that show off different elements of design, and then using Gimp to actually slice.

@webarto I love coding, especially dealing with performance optimizations. I'd love to make a better PHP engine with JIT. We don't need a new engine for JIT, but I figured it's time we do an engine rewrite. The real PHP 6 or maybe 7.
zend certificate would be better but if you looking for job - they don't care if you have certificate. They are more interested have PHP development for companies or freelance.

off-topic Has anyone ever built a Rubens tube and have any advice on the subject? I have been asked to build one for next weekend and I'm kind apprehensive about working with flammable gas, coupled with my clumsiness and general ability to make poor design decisions it smells like a recipe for disaster.
@Orangepill The rubber glove idea is a good one, but it's the exact mechanics of constructing a safe inlet value that I'm not sure about. I have a mate who works in a medical gas lab, I'm going to try and rope him in on it tomorrow
@DaveRandom If you haven't done it before, I'd recommend building it outside, or at least in a garage where you can keep the door open. Gas outside == fun and unlikely to be too dangerous. Gas inside => buildup => explosiveness != fun.
And make sure your gas supply has a cut-off on the bottle a long way from where you setting light to the gas, so that you can cut it off easily without having to reach past flames. ;)
