@thecoshman It isn't. It's really trivial to find the right layering, unless you print very very few bits per layer, but then memorizing the order equates to just memorizing the code itself.

It is not attached to a specific storage medium; it can be stored in something cheap and widely available like paper, which can be easily shielded against wear and against elements (laminate it). It has error correction which adds another layer of reliability. It's perfect for storing long-term backups of small amounts of data.
