@PetterFriberg He is trying to do the exact some thing, in both questions. He wants to load a view into a template, but he is mixing up his view methods. :)
@Timothy ok, thanks for clarification we have ping gold holders in php, they will make the judgement call on this since they can single handily close the question.. I'm just a poor java guy....
for the record, I'm inviting Siyual here. He commented on the last smokey report post with what seems like an auto comment that said "flag for spam". While it is an auto comment, and the rest of the content is valid, the post wasn't spam and I don't want others to flag incorrectly.
Well the guidance from meta is since it is just trash from a 1 rep user you can nuke it with rude/abusive to get rid of it. However if you are not comfortable with that than NAA or VLQ are also valid.
@gunr2171 Sorry for the incorrect flag - though, I'm a bit confused as to what an answer like that should be flagged as (the mostly gibberish/nonsense text answers) if not Spam.
I don't. I just always have that in my fall back in guidance to users new to flagging. Some people are just not sure and do not want to pull out the WMDs.
Ah, gotcha - thanks! Those types of posts have always been tricky for which to flag it as. Would be easier if there was a specific flag for it, but I don't seem to see those often enough for its own flag.
True, that's why my linked meta post was asking for - a specific flag. It was declined because existing flags do fit the role, even if it's not "to the letter"

@Sami There are some things we cannot see in your profile. For instance any reputation you may have lost due to downvotes you made on answers is invisible to us because votes are anonymous.
@Sami The only think I can think of for your loss of rep is you had edits on questions that were deleted when a script ran. When that happens the rep just disappears and is treated like it never existed. We would need a mod or dev to confirm.
@PetterFriberg I know it is fun to be funny but when dealing with a new user to the room that is having a problem lets try and keep it professional. We do not need added confusion.
@PetterFriberg even with ajax, if the browser goes away, what is there to call a java piece unless you do work in the middle-tier to do it on its behalf like an thread / event ?
@Drew maybe I understood your question wrong, in java back-end imagine a thread that is waiting for pings, if pings does not arrive it launch what ever you like to do, if they arrive you know client is waiting
but it's 5 years ago that I did this stuff, probably more effective ways now
@Drew yeah you need something that pings you (javascript or some crazy form reloading) and you need a thread back-end that receives and check what to do...
@Drew anyway probably better to do a progress bar and a nice button cancel : )
